The six behaviors that decide what your leaders actually get to hear.
Every organization already holds what it needs. Collaboration, influence, responsibility, beliefs, curiosity and perspective are all in the building. On their own they sit inert. Six keys turn them into action.
The Six Keys is a program your people can name, practice and measure. It runs beneath every APHIONE engagement, and your organization can also run it on its own.
How the framework is built
Each key has the same three parts, and that is what makes it teachable rather than aspirational. Something your organization already has. Something the key requires in order to work. Something it unlocks once it does.
Every key works at three levels at the same time: you, your team, and your organization. A person can practice one on their own, a team can hold it between them, and an organization can expect it.
What this is not
It is not a values statement and it is not a poster. Each behavior is specific enough that a leader can do something differently in the next meeting, and specific enough that the team can tell afterward whether they did.
The six keys
Key 1
Safety
You already have Collaboration · The key requires Respect · It unlocks Authenticity
Make space for people to be human. Give respect, grace and a generous spirit, so people bring their whole perspective and expertise, including what their background lets them see that nobody else in the room can.
Key 2
Trust
You already have Influence · The key requires Integrity · It unlocks Relationships
Empower others. Say what you will do and do it. A network of trust is what lets a team take on a bigger and more complex problem than the talent in the room would otherwise allow.
Key 3
Responsible Risk Taking
You already have Responsibilities · The key requires Vulnerability · It unlocks Confidence
Design the exposure before you take it. Draw the risk narrowly, work the scenarios, and decide in advance what you will do whichever way it goes. The word that carries this key is responsible. It is never recklessness.
Key 4
Courage
You already have Belief Systems · The key requires Humility · It unlocks Understanding
Notice that a belief may be shaping what your organization thinks is possible, then go and find out. Engage the people it serves and the people it costs, listen, and challenge what you hear respectfully, including your own beliefs. It is quiet courage, not boldness.
Key 5
Questions
You already have Curiosity · The key requires Openness · It unlocks Creativity
Design the inquiry. Ask what the team is assuming, and what evidence would change the answer, before anyone starts building.
Key 6
Listening
You already have Perspectives · The key requires Presence · It unlocks Empathy
Let people be heard. Check what someone means before responding, and carry their perspective onward intact rather than as your summary of it.
How the six work together
The six are not a sequence and none of them is the foundation the others stand on. They are interconnected, and the benefit sits in the overlap, where all six hold at the same time.
What one key holds is what another key draws on. The influence that trust holds is what makes responsibility real. The perspective that listening holds is what courage goes out to gather. The beliefs that courage surfaces are what questions examine. The confidence that responsible risk taking unlocks is what courage draws on to enter a room where it is the visitor. The empathy that listening unlocks is what returns a group to safety.
A team can begin with any one of them, because each one strengthens the rest.
How it spreads
Reflection. A person sees the behavior in their own work.
Development. They practice it deliberately.
Contribution. The practice becomes visible to the group, and that visibility is how it spreads.
Culture changes one person at a time, in that order.
What the six behaviors are worth
Your best growth ideas already exist inside your company. They do not always reach the people who could act on them.
Somebody in a plant, a sales team or an engineering group has already seen the opportunity. What that person knows gets softened at every level on the way up. By the time a senior leader hears the idea, the idea is smaller and safer than what the customer actually said.
These six behaviors remove that filter. Your leaders start hearing what your customers and your front line really said, and your company acts on better information.
How you see where you stand
Two questionnaire-based profiles measure the same eighteen characteristics the framework names: the six keys, what each one holds, and what each one unlocks.
The Individual Innovative Mindset Profile. One leader answers for themselves and receives a personal report, with a working session on what it means for their role.
The Innovative Team and Organization Dynamics Profile. Everyone answers individually. Only combined results go to the team, so the group sees which behaviors come easily and which are harder.
Both profiles are in pilot. We describe what they show and what they do not, and we do not describe them as validated.
Four ways to run it
Choose by how many people you need to reach and how much time they have.
Immersive Leadership Lab. Two days on your site with your leadership team. Up to fifteen people. Your team leaves with shared language and with practices they have already used on their own work.
Virtual Workshop Series. Six weeks, two hours each week, live and facilitated. People apply each key to their real work between sessions. Twelve participants minimum.
On-Demand Digital Program. A self-paced video series with printed summaries and discussion material. A reinforcement sequence follows, one key at a time, so the behaviors do not fade after the last video.
Enterprise Culture Activation License. A three and a half hour experience you deploy across the whole enterprise. Up to 350 people per license, with reinforcement material so the language holds after the session ends.
What we can show you
In one large deployment we measured people before the program and again afterward. Participants moved on every behavior we measured, and the movement was statistically significant on all of them.
We will say plainly what that measurement does and does not prove. It shows movement in a condition that enables growth. It is not by itself a claim about your revenue. We would rather give you an honest number than a large one.
Where this has been used
More than one thousand people to date, inside large industrial and utility organizations, in all four of the forms above.
We describe our engagements by sector and never by name. Client details stay confidential.
These six behaviors cannot give your company a good idea. What they do is make sure a good idea reaches the people who can act on it, with nothing taken out along the way.
That is how a company stops losing growth it already had.
Invest with clarity. Build what’s next.
